5 UNEXPECTED WAYS I UNWIND AFTER A LONG ASS DAY

Lately, my days have been long and hard. I’m a full-time employee and mother to a four year-old. I love finding ways to unwind, relax and clear my mind of the day’s stress. Here are 5 unexpected ways I unwind after a long ass day:

Take a Bubble Bath

I am more of a shower person but, lately I have been enjoying a bubble bath using LUSH products. I feel so relaxed and ready for bed after a nice long and hot bubble bath.

Have Some Ice Cream

Ice Cream always made me feel better as a little girl and today it brings about a happiness I cannot explain. Maybe I associate ice cream with the fun times in my childhood so it always brightens my day and mood.

Put Headphones on and listen to music

Music always makes me feel better – I listen to 90s R&B when I feel loved and like singing at the top of my lungs, and pop and Hip Hop when I’m exercising or cleaning the house. Music always does the trick for my many moods.

Have a glass of wine – Need I say more!

ASK JINNA: 10 THINGS I’M DOING FOR MYSELF IN MY 30S TO KEEP SANE

So far this year for me has been about getting to know myself in my early 30s, spending time learning my four-year-old daughter (she changes everyday!), building new relationships/improving relationships, self love and self care.

I decided to share a list of 10 things I’m doing to keep sane in my 30s:

  1. Love MYSELF unconditionally
  2. Manage my debt (including school loans, medical, and credit card debt)
  3. Workout more
  4. Drink more water
  5. Take better care of my skin
  6. Set boundaries in my personal relationships
  7. Cook dinner more during the week
  8. Take time to myself to be creative and/or relax
  9. Take more baths
  10. Go to more happy hours and events even if I’m solo dolo
