We need to give Teyana Taylor her flowers NOW!! This woman has a beautiful voice, can dance, can act, she makes beautiful babies, and she has style like no other – so Harlem, New York. Teyana announced that she is the new Creative Director of the brand PrettyLittleThings not too long ago and she has created her first collection which was heavily inspired by the 90s. I fell in love with this collection because it reminds me of the 90s (which I grew up in – 80s baby!) and I instantly got Aaliyah vibes – who didn’t want to dress like baby girl, Aaliyah growing up. I wanted to share my favorite looks below. Have you guys checked out the collection and if so, what did you purchase? The pieces are very affordable.
Happy New Year Jinna Lovers! I know it’s been a while but a sista had a busy and rough 2020 dealing with working from home and playing teacher to my daughter in second grade remote learning. It’s tough being a mom nowadays but Rihanna always bring me back to LIFE when she releases anything new! This time I am in love with the Savage x Fenty 2021 Valentine’s Day Campaign!! Below are my favorites featuring Ri Ri (of course! Nobody models these designs like Rihanna no matter how hard they try on Instagram Haha), R&B singer, Miguel and his model wife, Nazanin Mandi, and Alek Wok.
Do you have a favorite? Are you copping any of these looks for your Valentine’s Day in quarantine? I may have to get some stuff.
Hi Jinnalovers! I know it’s been a minute but I’ve been WFH, helping my daughter with remote learning AND trying to stay sane in quarantine. One of my favorite seasons, Fall seems to be slipping away too early and Winter is fast approaching. Why does Winter come so fast? Why can’t we enjoy the pumpkin spices and muffins a little longer, please? Haha. I am not a fan of Winter but all of my favorite holidays are in this season including my birthday (which is this weekend! Technically, it’s still fall but it always feels like winter). Even though I hate the cold season, I do enjoy having the opportunity to switch out my favorite products when the seasons change. Here is a list of my favorite products that will get be through the winter and hopefully I can add more to this list as more products drop for the holidays.
I absolutely love Glossier You fragrance and the fact that it blends in with your natural body odor to give you a unique scent. I remember being at work and getting tons of compliments and people asking what I was wearing throughout the day. Who doesn’t love to smell good?
2. I started taking HUM vitamins over the summer because the pandemic had me feeling sluggish and tired. I felt like I needed to add vitamins to my routine to feel better and I did a lot of research before deciding on the HUM brand. I visited the website and took a personal quiz to see which vitamins I should take and my nutritionist (on the site) suggested that I take the following: OMG! Omega the Great™, Here Comes the Sun™, Daily Cleanse™, Private Party™, and Wingman™. I feel so much better everyday after taking my vitamins in the morning while sipping my coffee and reading emails.
3. Being in quarantine and feeling stressed has not been easy on my hair. Not being able to go to the hair salon and get my deep conditioner has caused my hair to break off and fall out so I read a few beauty articles on the best shampoos for damaged hair and black owned and I saw every one giving tons of props to Briogeo Haircare so I visited the website and took a quiz to see what products would work best on my hair. After taking the quiz, I brought and now use the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Super Moisture Shampoo fir Damaged Hair, Briogeo Don’t Despair! Repair Strength + Moisture Leave-in Spray Hair Mask and Briogeo, Don’t Despair, Repair! Strengthening Treatment Hair Oil. I love it! It makes my hair feel so soft and smooth. Waiting to see hair growth!
4. Do I need to say anything about Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin? This is my absolute favorite celebrity beauty brand and I am loving the cleanser the most – it smells amazing and my skin feels so soft after each use.
I grew up playing in my mother’s lotions and perfumes and would sneak a spray before walking out the door and heading to middle school. I would spend the weekends with my grandmother and loved messing with everything on her cute vanity. I would have on all of her lotions, powders and sprays. I used to have a blast! Now I have a mini me that loves playing in my makeup, sprays and lotions too. Below are my favorite designer perfumes of all time (from when I first started wearing perfume as a teen to now).
In middle school and high school I loved wearing Beyonce’s True Star and the queen of pop, Britney Spears’ perfumes, which came in the cutest crystal ball shape and colors. I loved the fruity and soft scent which was perfect for young girls. As I got older, I started to love floral scents and became (and still is a major fan) of all of Marc Jacobs scents.
After trying so many perfumes throughout the years I realized that I love scents from designers like Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Versace to name a few. Check out my favorite designer perfumes. Do you have a favorite scent?
I would love to know what you’re favorite perfume is!
