I am a HUGE fan of M.A.C. lipsticks, especially the Matte ones but, they can be drying and make my lips peel sometimes. My dreams for a Matte lipstick that’s non-drying are coming true because M.A.C. just released a line of lipsticks formulated specifically to combat the non-drying stereotype.

The makeup company released Powder Kiss – a powdery-matte finish lipstick that also moisturizes your lips. It’s supposed to feel like wearing your favorite lip balm but in a lipstick format. The Powder Kiss lipsticks comes in 16 shades and I cannot wait to get my hands on a few.

Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul passed away early last Thursday morning leaving many people sad and creating playlist of her most legendary songs. She leaves behind a legacy that includes six decades of music, 18 grammy’s, and 17 top-10 hits to name a few of her achievements. She was the epitome of a strong black woman – teen mom, singer, Civil Rights Activist, and fashionista. Aretha was one of the most influential women in music.

Aretha lived a history-making life and died at the tender age of 76. Her voice and songs are iconic and powerful. I remember growing up watching It’s Showtime at the Apollo and seeing people either SANG her song to glory or screw up and the audience letting them know they didn’t do the Queen of Soul’s song justice. My friends and family can tell you that I have an old soul and love classic R&B tunes. I love singers that can actually SING! I love singers that can sing the hell out of a song live and that’s what Aretha did with all of her songs! My favorite songs include: “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”, “Respect”, “Something He Can Feel”, “I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You)”, and “Dr. Feelgood (Love Is a Serious Business”.

Aretha was also a fashion icon and the Queen of Shade – She once pulled a Mariah Carey diva move and claimed to not know fellow singer, Patti Labelle. Check out my favorite looks below:

Lately, my days have been long and hard. I’m a full-time employee and mother to a four year-old. I love finding ways to unwind, relax and clear my mind of the day’s stress. Here are 5 unexpected ways I unwind after a long ass day:

Take a Bubble Bath

I am more of a shower person but, lately I have been enjoying a bubble bath using LUSH products. I feel so relaxed and ready for bed after a nice long and hot bubble bath.

Have Some Ice Cream

Ice Cream always made me feel better as a little girl and today it brings about a happiness I cannot explain. Maybe I associate ice cream with the fun times in my childhood so it always brightens my day and mood.

Put Headphones on and listen to music

Music always makes me feel better – I listen to 90s R&B when I feel loved and like singing at the top of my lungs, and pop and Hip Hop when I’m exercising or cleaning the house. Music always does the trick for my many moods.

Have a glass of wine – Need I say more!

Netflix and Chill – literally!

Summer officially starts in less than 10 days and I am so excited to look like a summer goddess and do summer activities. Every season has makeup trends and with the launch of celebrity beauty brands  and beauty influencers experimenting with different looks, these trends have become an essential part of a makeup lovers life.

The summer makeup looks that are trending right now include bold draping like Rihanna does with her Fenty Beauty highlighters and eye shadows and the barely there bronzer look.

Below are the five makeup looks I want to try ASAP:

1. Shock Shadow is the biggest summer makeup look right now and is a favorite among makeup artist and celebs. Just add one bold, neon, or metallic shadow to your lids and your all set to go!

2. Bold Draping comes from the 1980s but, today it’s bigger, bolder, and brighter than ever before. I will take a page from Rihanna and use Fenty Beauty to achieve her look below.

3. The Red Lip is always classic and is my go-to lip when I want to look or feel extra spicy!

4. Sunset Eyes are perfect for beach days – I feel like my skin tone looks good with orange or warm tones of eye shadow so I cannot wait to try this trend.

5. Barely Any Bronzer

I be doing a follow-up post when I try these looks!
