Hey Guys! I know, I know, it’s been a long time since I posted anything but, life has been unreal and so different. Last year I started a new job in a different industry and it took a while for me to get adjusted and then COVID-19 came and punched us all in the gut SMH.
How have you guys been holding up during this pandemic? I’ve been feeling every type of emotion you can think of. I went from going to work to WFH and homeschooling my 1st grader – It was rough for a while so thank God for summer breaks. For real.
I can definitely say that I have something in common with my forever FOTUS – Michelle Obama. She said that she’s suffering from “low grade depression” – just feeling out of body and mind at times looking at the news and not being able to be out and about as much.
Even though I cook three meals a day, seven days a week (and I am tired of it!), I am thankful that I have saved some money so that when the outside fully opens up, I have money to spend and places to go Haha. I even started making my own coffee everyday – something I never liked doing before this pandemic. Dunkin Donuts K Cups to the rescue.
During this pandemic I’ve had the opportunity to spend more time with my daughter. I ordered some kits from KiwiCo so we’ve made little furry owls and a light up princess wand so far. Our favorite things to do together are play Guess Who?, Trolls World Tour Monopoly, watching Bluey on Disney Jr, Frozen II on Disney+ and baking cupcakes. It has been a blast being at home with my favorite girl on most days but, like any other mom, I have felt overwhelmed having so much to do in a day. To keep myself sane, I escape to the bathroom and take a long hot bath with one of my summer novels that I ordered from Amazon. I am currently reading Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan. Pretty good so far.
Reading and watching some of my favorite shows have kept me sane during this pandemic. I have binge watched Dawson’s Creek on Hulu, All American (So GOOD!!), I started watching Greenleaf on Netflix and I am going to get my life watching all of my favorite 90s black sitcoms on Netflix – I am currently getting my LIFE with Moesha! Netflix finally stepped it up and did it for the culture and I am so HYPE. They need to add BAPs and other classic black movies on their site as well.
I am back and ready to hit you guys with some more content so stay tuned for some quarantine living post Haha. Stay healthy and safe Jinnalovers 🙂
