Beyoncé gave birth to a baby girl named Blue Ivy Carter on Saturday at Lenox Hill hospital in New York City. The New York Daily News reported that the singer and her hubby Jay-Z, rented out the entire 4th floor of the hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, for $1.3 million to welcome their bundle of joy. Sources say that she checked into the hospital under the name “Ingrid Jackson”.
The meaning of the baby’s name is so sweet and meaningful to both entertainers. Blue is for her father’s ‘Blueprint” album and the fact that its the coolest color on the spectrum, Ivy because of the “IV” standing for Beyoncé’s favorite number four in roman numerals, and of Carter is Jay-Z’s last name. Ivy is also a flower that symbolizes bringing a marriage together.
